My AoC History dates back to experimenting with RoR, back in 2002. A friend showed me the game, and I was instantly addicted. In the fall of 2003, about a year later, I found out about the entire series, and I had my parents purchase the AoC gold edition that spring after months experimenting with the game. I loved the historical background, logical aspect, and when I found out about multiplayer in 2005, I began to truly enjoy the game.
In the fall of 2005, I was a little kid in paradise, running from CBA room to CBA room back at good old Zone.com. However, I ran into the hackers within a week. Sadly, I joined their ranks, and I hacked game after game for about 6 months. In 6 months, I had made such a horrible name for myself, that I had to go through my first ever name change. I then decided to become a clean player, and join my first ever clan, KoE.
In KoE, I learned how to play Green Arabia, among other RM maps, and together with KoE_Darksoul, and KoE_xDevilx, we became the "Terrible Trio" as we won a lot of games together. I met players like Pure_Jester2 and other players that helped me through my "newbie" year.
However, this all was coming soon to an end. Zone.com announced closure in the spring of 2006, and June 19, 2006 marked the end of almost a decade for the AoE series. With AoE3's release coming up that year, and the creation of a new site to serve as the home for multiplayer AoE3, Zone.com began a revamping project that saw the AoC community scramble for a new place to play.
This started a "race" between EL (Empires Legacy) and Vetev. EL was an American-based group led by execute, and Vetev was based in Europe. Eventually, Vetev merged with Gamepark to form the partnership that hosted the AoC community into early 2007. However, EL would fold as they never even released a client in its beta stage.
The summer/fall of 2006 saw me "unofficially" leave KoE, and fly solo in the AoC CS community, where I learned to play Rambit CB, CBF, Mini CB, and several blood maps. It was then that I learned how to patrol, use the paladins to distract fire against enemy archers, among other things as I climbed my rate to the 17xx mark. However, I abused the booter, and again had a habit of drop-tricking games that I was losing, and these problems ruined my attempt to join KA in January 2007.
However, under names such as Cameron, Arnold_Swarch, Fanatic_Lbow, Fanatic_Beserk, and Fanatic_Longbow, I had developed a horrible reputation that led to the first retirement from AoC CS. In reality, I intended to exile myself until they forgot my past. In other words, I decided to play the waiting game. This worked, much to my satisfaction. In the meantime, I learned Michi, and enjoyed a couple months of multiple-hour matches that saw me meet old pals such as Bald_Eagle, Count, and Ultram@jor.
After this first retirement, I came back to AoC CS as Saint_Alexander_Bronze. No one knew who I was, but eventually I had to reveal myself. During this time, there was a lot of fighting between Denis, Skirm, and Ector who represented the dying Hun clan, and my clanmates at Saints. Eventually, Huns fell apart as Hun co-leader Fork joined Saints, and Attila became inactive. This led to the formation of ICE, which in reality was an attempt to revive the feuds from the Hun era.
It was around this time that IGZ introduced its alpha stages, and despite a ton of crashing, the AoC community moved from Gamepark to IGZ. Gamepark mods such as Impeached had moved to IGZ, and IGZ introduced a sleeker, newer looking client and site, while Gamepark's client looked like Windows 95. IGZ has since gone through about 100 updates, and has been the closest thing to Zone.com since Zone closed.
At IGZ, as the community moved there, my AoC career changed for the better. I joined LOCO in the summer of 2007, and with DAFFY_LOCO, WERO_LOCO, TAFF_LOCO, DEEZI_LOCO, among others, we formed a deadly combination of players that would be quite dominant at CBF. LOCO's mainly Spanish, but they have some English players as well. My membership there wouldn't last long, as I started having conflicts with various members.
There was the first incident concerning a new member, LADY_LOCO. I was, as a member, voting if she should a$$ume full membership status, and I voted "not yet," as my opinion was that she was joining the clan too quickly. The vote was in a private member-only forum, and it was supposed to be confidential. However, LADY somehow got the news that I voted "not yet." This began a series of conflicts with her, and her friends ORION_LOCO, and Tio_Conejo_LOCO.
Then, the situation escalated when I was joking around how "hot" women players were, and she thought I had seen a picture of herself that she had borrowed to a few members. Trying to focus on a game, I lied to her. I told her that Tio had given me the picture, when in reality, I did not see any picture. This led to some real hard coldness, and the beginning of the end for me being a LOCO. I eventually left the clan in October 2007. My basis for leaving was because I felt uncomfortable being with the clan, that the clan wasn't active enough, and that I didn't want to break apart the clan with the hatred toward myself.
This led to three weeks going solo, and the eventual recruitment by I3dC_I3LiNd (Blind). He was the co-leader of I3dC, and he thought I would do well. In my three months there, until January 2008, I enjoyed many a good game of Mini CB Cla$$ic with PJMaster, Volcom, Drache, and several other players. In December, with ICE clan dying and with Bubblegum and Lametta (Ector / his brother) joining our clan, we enjoyed a brief period of being the top Mini CB clan.
However, this wouldn't last. I3dC eventually crashed due to inactivity from the main membership base in Puerto Rico, and the rest of the members started leaving. Then, I had one certain whining issue with all the team stacking. Team stacking is the practice of certain players teaming their "friends" to prevent playing with other players that are less talented and skilled. This led to several in-game fights and my removal from I3dC.
Almost immediately, AKC_Pico recruited me. I had posted on his forum several times, and he saw fit to make me an Administrator almost right away. Since January 2008, we have developed a relationship that continues to this day. With AKC, I got to be introduced to RoR. I got to create a map series called RoR football, based on an OLD AoC football map that was once played in Gamepark.
I've had the privilege of making several PHP websites since then, including this one. In fact, I've even written several article collections that you can find posted at the AKC site. Finally, I've had to privilege of being a moderator on several different forums as well, including this one. AKC has been more than I can ask for, and the 39 members that I consider clanmates make up the biggest clan I've been a part of in 3 years.
However, this all had to come to a sudden halt in April 2008. This past spring, my old laptop broke down, leading to 3 long months of boredom. Yes, I managed to get some personal matters in order, and get back on track with my schoolwork, but it was incredibly boring. I made my return to AKC this past June, and I have been able to continue my work there.
Now, in the last month, I have had the chance to work in this Saint / I3dC union with PJ and Cruz, and we plan to move this new union forward. Let’s re-write history!
EDIT - November 2008
Well, how things change! Since I last updated my history, I've gone through Saints and AKC. Firstly, I'd like to describe the AKC story and how Pico almost committed suicide.
Pico is obviously 17, and very immature compared to a normal adult, and his immaturity showed since the beginning of my time at AKC in January 2008. I'm thankful for how he let me gain some degree of power at AKC, and the great times I had experimenting with ROR CS.
However, the time came when he set his eyes on expanding to other games. It began with FPS - first person shooter - as well as RPG, MMORPG, Travian, and eventually, he expanded on to Saint territory at AoC CS. Before I knew it, I had to wear the AKC tag to be able to play in AKC games, which led to my departure from AKC.
Around this time, Pico thought about suicide....and, you can go to either Saints or AKC, and do a search for keywords like 'huge,' either clan, and whatever. There's some long articles and posts, and you can imagine the emotional pain I still have over the whole situation.
Secondly, I'd like to describe the situation at Saints, which basically was a case of me burning chances with PJ and Fork. In reality, now that I think about, the only reason I was there WAS for their standards, forum, and the namesake. I remember creating a topic in their private forum on the subject of 'why are we here at Saints' and I honestly gave BS reasons.
Anyway, there's not much of a story to tell in my time at Saints. Most of it is just damage control after losing my temper in-game, and eventually, Fork decided it was enough. I will simply add that for all the crap at their site about being the best, they are very inactive and I highly doubt that they will be competitive any time soon at an Excalibur game against REAL clans like FS, Rogue, and us at Huns.
Thank you for reading the update...
